Study for a career change
At one point, you may realise they want to try pursuing something else outside your current field and earning academic qualifications can massively help you change your career!
If you are considering a career change, these steps can help you get started. Let's do this!
- List out at least 3 job opportunities or positions within the new field you would like to move into in the near future.
- Browse through the most-used online job boards and jot down most common skills and qualifications required for your dream roles - this will help identify what skills and qualifications you need in order to achieve your career goal.
- Assess your current qualifications and experiences to identify transferable skills relevant to the new field of study. This will help you sort out the possibility of your successful career change.
- Reach out to people you know/or do some research to find out the pros and cons of the career you would like to pursue for better understanding.
- Consider your personal circumstances and needs. For example:
- In which year would you like to start your study?
- For how many years?
- What is your budget?
- Do you have any preferences regarding the city, vibes, or lifestyle?
- What is your current English proficiency? Have you ever taken any English test (e.g. IELTS/PTE/TOEFL)?
